What does GM Protection Plan provide?
GM Protection Plan is available in three levels of coverage. The Major Guard level covers virtually every vehicle component against failure - even if it results from wear and tear*. The Value Guard and Basic Guard levels provide named component type of coverage. In addition, all three levels of coverage provide Towing and Alternate Transportation, as well as Road Service with the Major Guard coverage only.

Smart Care provides specific maintenance coverage that includes oil changes (oil and oil filter), chassis lubrication and tire rotations.

Basic Guard is the vehicle service contract for cars, light-duty trucks and vans which provides coverage to essential components for your customer's vehicle.

It covers the parts and labor repair costs of specific components within four critical vehicle components in the event of failure - even if they result from wear and tear*. These include engine, transmission / transaxle, front / rear-wheel-drive components and fuel delivery components. It also provides towing.
